Wallace Alan Leslie R93355 Winjan Division. It is with sadness that we advise of our Shipmate, colleague and damn good friend, Wal ‘The Brown Paper Bag Man’. – passed away on Christmas evening 2013.
He lived and experienced life to the full, 110%. He was known as many an ‘alias’. Always a mate, loved his country with a passion, after rugby of course. Being unique, you either loved him or hated him, as if he cared, ‘he did’, always leaving his mark on you.
Wal has embraced the world recently travelling everywhere that one can imagine, and loving life, making loads of new friends along the way. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Wal’s family and friends. We of the Mighty 3rd are thinking of you all.
Patrick (Quokka) Donnelly flew from The Alice to attend Wal’s service. Unfortunately due to the Xmas period, it was impossible for others to attend. Rob Sweet organised a wreath on behalf of The 3rd.
A laying of the ashes will be held at a later date in Gosford.
